BLOCKCHAIN
First things first: what is a database? A database is basically a tool used to store raw data. It also allows one to search through the data via a client interface. So, what is Blockchain? Blockchain works pretty much the same way as a database, but it does not centralize data. Instead, data is stored across the computers of the network. This network can be public, semi-private, or private.
Blockchain is at the basis of the new SAAS (software as a service) and PAAS (platform as a service). As a new technology, it opens a vast field of possibilities and is likely to disrupt existing technological models. Blockchain is also a way to protect consumers regarding the traceability of documents and transactions, as it can be used as a digital record for all transactions conducted across a given network. Possible applications are unlimited: loans, bonds, payments, insurance, identity management and identity check, etc.
